Academic, scientific and cultural collaboration Agreement between the Leibniz University of Hannover (Germany) and the University of the Balearic Islands

Last May of 2019, Prof. Dr. Iur V. Epping, Rector of the Leibniz University of Hannover, with domicile in Hannover, Germany, and Mr. Llorenç Huguet Rotger, Rector of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), have signed the academic, scientific and cultural collaboration Agreement between the Leibniz University of Hannover (Germany) and the University of the Balearic Islands (Ref 3735), promoted by the IAC3.

This agreement is established to develop programs of joint studies and the exchange and cooperation in the fields of teaching, student training and research.

It will be carried out in the framework of cultural and scientific collaboration established between both countries, and the parties undertake to promote to the respective university councils or inter-university coordination bodies the possibility of extending this agreement to other institutions of their States.

Cooperation between the two universities may include the following points:

  1. Exchange of information and publications: includes the exchange between the libraries of the respective institutions.
  2. Exchange of teaching and research staff to complement the courses offered at the respective institutions.
  3. Seminars, talks, symposia.
  4. Joint research studies.
  5. Programs and joint study plans.
  6. Access to specific equipment and material.
  7. Short-term visits.
  8. Undergraduate and postgraduate exchange.
  9. Other collaborative activities established between the parties.

This framework agreement was approved by the Board of Directors dated February 12, 2019 and ratified by the Governing Council on April 10, 2019, in accordance with the provisions of articles 24.2.24 and 147.2 of the Statutes of the University of the Balearic Islands, approved by Decree 64/2010, of May 14 (BOIB number 76, of May 22).
